Vegan French Toast with Caramelised Apples and Walnuts

A super decadent way to start your day. Try this indulgent vegan French toast with caramelised apples and walnuts.

  • 3 tablespoons dairy-free butter
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon all spice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 6 slices of bread
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, for serving


  1. In a sauce pan over medium heat melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add apples, sugar, all spice and cinnamon. Cook for 10 minutes until golden brown.
  2. In a medium bowl whisk both milks, vanilla, corn starch and maple syrup together. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium heat. Dip each bread slice into the mixture, coating well on each side. Place bread slices into a pan and cook until browned on the bottom. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Repeat for all bread slices. Serve with caramelised apples and walnuts. Enjoy!
