Black Bean and Sweet Potato Vegan Burgers

Save this recipe for another yummy lunch inspiration. Easy to make and packed with protein black bean and sweet potato vegan burgers, served with tofu scramble, steamed broccoli, cherry tomatoes and baby spinach.

  • 1 can black organic beans, drained
  • 1 sweet potato, peeled, cubed and steamed
  • 1/2 small white onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 small bunch of cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon BBQ sauce (optional)
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons hemp seeds


  1. Add all the ingredients into a food processor and pulse until the mixture comes together and forms sticky paste.
  2. In a frying pan heat olive oil over medium heat. Form burgers with your hands and coat in sesame seeds. Fry for about 5 minutes on both sides until golden brown and cooked through. Serve with tofu scramble, steamed broccoli, baby spinach, cherry tomatoes and enjoy!
