Split Peas and Broccoli Fritters

New veggie fritter combo. Easy to make and crazy delicious. These fritters are great for burgers, lunch or snack and kids lunch boxes friendly.

This recipe contains eggs. You can simply substitute 1 egg by mixing 1 tablespoon of ground flax seed meal with 3 tablespoons of water. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes until it becomes gel and use it as an egg replacement.

Makes: 6-8


  • 1 small broccoli head, cut into florets
  • 1 cup cooked split peas
  • 1 large carrot grated
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
  • 2 tablespoons chickpea flour
  • 1 egg or flax-seed egg mixture
  • a few leaves fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • olive oil, for frying
  • sour cream and fresh parsley, for serving


  1. Place all the ingredients into a food processor and pulse until the mixture comes together and forms a sticky paste.
  2. Form fritters with your hands and fry for about 3 minutes on both sides until golden brown. Serve immediately with sour cream and parsley. Enjoy!
