Vegan Tofu Filet-O-“Fish” Style Burgers

Burger cravings? Try this vegan filet-o-“fish” style burgers with crispy tofu and sour yogurt sauce. They`re insanely delicious and loaded with protein.

Ingredients

  • 400 g firm tofu
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs or panko crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • dairy-free cheese slices
  • 4 burger buns
  • For the Sauce:
  • 125 ml natural soy yogurt
  • 1 small cucumber, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • small bunch fresh dill, finely chopped
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Cut tofu into 4 equal squares. In a small shallow plate combine turmeric and bread crumbs. Spray each tofu square with oil and dunk in bread crumbs mixture pressing the breadcrumbs into it on all sides. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and add tofu squares. Cook 2-3 minutes on each side until crispy and golden brown.
  2. Make the sauce. Place all the ingredients into a blender and process until creamy and smooth.
  3. Assemble burgers. Spread a little bit of the sauce on the bottom bun, following with cheese slice, tofu and more sauce on the top bun. Repeat with the rest of the burgers and ingredients. Serve and enjoy right away.
