Buffalo Broccoli Wings

Everyone probably knows a recipe for buffalo cauliflower. But have you ever tried buffalo broccoli? I made these broccoli buffalo wings for the first time myself and absolutely loved the taste. I served them with Mustard Tahini Dipping Sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head broccoli
  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C. Break the head of broccoli into bite-sized florets. In a medium bowl whisk together soy milk, flour and pinch of salt. Dip the florets into the flour mixture and arrange on the baking tray. Bake for 10 minutes. Take them out from the oven and let cool slightly.
  2. In a separate bowl combine together oil, maple syrup, paprika, chili, cayenne, lemon juice, garlic powder and onion powder. Dip broccoli wings into the spicy mixture. Coat evenly. Arrange on the baking tray and pop them back in the oven for another 10 minutes. Serve and enjoy right away!
