Easy recipe for your home made focaccia bread.
It’s crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, mmm perfection.
Prep Time: 3,5 hrs
Cook Time: 20 mins
300 ml warm water
500 grams all-purpose flour
7-8 g dried yeast
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon raw brown sugar
toppings of your choice (olives, cherry tomatoes etc)
Sprinkle the yeast into a medium bowl with the warm water. Stir until the yeast dissolves. Place almost all of the flour on the table in the shape of a volcano. Pour the yeast-and-warm-water mix, along with the other ingredients, into the “crater” of the volcano. Knead everything together for 10 to 15 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic, keeping your surface floured. Grease up a baking tray with olive oil and put the dough inside. Turn the dough around so the top is slightly oiled. Cover the tray and put the dough aside to let it rest and stretch to the edges of the tray, for at least 2 or 3 hours.
Drizzle the dough with a bit of olive oil, add toppings of your choice. Bake for about 20 minutes, until golden. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving! Enjoy!
